| Early orthodontic evaluation |
The primary orthodontic exam should be done by the parents themselves. Check if your child has a nice profile: does he have a small chin? Does he have a prominent chin? Both side of the face are the same? At every visit, the hygienist and the dentist will check the evolution of de baby teeth, the sequence of eruption of the ADULT teeth, and also the relation between the upper and lower jaw.
Early detection can be treated by removable or functional appliances. Later, the child may need full braces, but early treatment can avoid longer and more expensive treatment.
